"GALILEO GALILEI" in Lisbon for the last time as a LlOYD TRIESTINO ship

Historic momentum caught on camera by Luis Miguel Correia, the last call of "GALILEO GALILEI" in Lisbon as a Lloyd Triestino liner, the date 3.6.1975, she was at the end of another voyage around the World, she continued sailing for Lloyd until 1977, after a period of two years laid-up she returned to Lisbon in 1979 on her maiden voyage flying the I.C.I. colours after being converted to a full time cruise ship. Back in 1976 my first job as an 18 year old was at a shipping agent in Portugal, amongst other liner operators we represented ITALIA LINE, the GUGLIELMO MARCONI had just joined the Europe to South America route with the CRISTOFORO COLOMBO, visiting these awesome liners in the 70's was like a dream come true for me already a passenger ships enthusiast for over a decade. In May of 1976 I sailed on the MARCONI, this is a trip I will cherish for the rest of my life, the ambiance of a liner, knowing the majority of the crew, getting acquainted to officers and masters of this amazing ship was for a young boy like me incredibly exciting. Throughout the years I have collected, photos, brochures and other forms of archive that I have now decided to turn public, so the reason for the creation of this Blog, one that will give me an amazing pleasure. A word of thank you to maritime historian, Luis Miguel Correia, long time friend for allowing me to publish several of his photos of MARCONI and her sister ship GALILEO GALILEI, also thank you to Rob O'Brien, Rich Turnwald and to the Facebook group "Le Mitiche Nave Passeggeri (The Legendary Passenger Ships) Hope you enjoy it, all comments very welcome
