CANTIERI RIUNITI DEL' ADRIATICO
CANTIERI RIUNITI DEL' ADRIATICO, also known as CRDA, was the result of the merge of CANTIERI NAVALE TRIESTINO at Monfalcone and STABILIMENTO TECNICO TRIESTINO back in 1930. The new CRDA built between the wars, submarines and heavy cruisers for the Royal Italian Navy, the liner "CONTE DI SAVOIA" was their first large and later famous passenger ship. During the 50's and 60's CRDA became notorious for the building of some of the most exquisite and more elegant liners the World as ever seen, GIULIO CESARE, AUGUSTUS, GALILEO GALILEI, GUGLIELMO MARCONI, OCEANIC, RAFFAELLO and their peak in ship buiding in my opinion, the marvellous EUGENIO C. CRDA was sold to the FINCANTIERI GROUP in 1984, today one of the most prestigious Shipyards in the World

So many fantastic-looking ships!
ReplyDeletethanks Kalle
ReplyDeletethere were others more imposing, but the ones above rank among the most elegant I have ever seen, together with NORMANDIE and FRANCE where the same kind of elegance was extended for another 70/80 meters
